Team Draft Reviews !!!

1.) San Diego Chargers (4-12) Pick: QB Philip Rivers- NC State, 6-4 229, 40 Time: - (Official)
1st Round Pick: QB Philip Rivers- N.C. State
Note: The Chargers not only picked up an extra 1st Round pick, but they also got the player they probably wanted all along. Rivers will star right away and should be pretty effective because of the strong running game provided by L.T., but the OL is still a huge question mark.
2nd Round Pick: DT Igor Olshansky- Oregon
Note: Olshansky was a very important pick up for Wade Phillips 3-4 defense and should start right away at NT.
3rd Round Pick: K Nate Kaeding- Iowa
Note: Kaeding was a great pick by the Chargers! The Jags and the Chiefs were also very interested in Kaeding.
3rd Round Pick: C Nick Hardwick- Purdue
Note: Hardwick was not consider a 3rd round pick coming in by most, but he could be a Dan Koppen type player and suprise everyone right away.
4th Round Pick: DE Shaun Phillips- Purdue
Note: Phillips is another perfect fit into Wade Phillips 3-4 Defense, he should develop into an outstanding Rush LB.
5th Round Pick: DE Dave Ball- UCLA
Note: In a division that featured pretty good OT's (Pac-10), Dave Ball was able to rack up just as much sacks as Kenechi Udeze. The Chargers were always high on him and was probably thinking about drafting him earlier, but Ball fell to them in the 5th round.
5th Round Pick: RB Michael Turner- No. Ill.
Note: Excellent back up for L.T.! Also considered a 3rd or 4th Round pick coming into the draft, so this is excellent value here.
6th Round Pick: WR Ryan Krause- Nebraska-Om.
7th Round Pick: DT Ryon Bingham- Nebraska
7th Round Pick: OL Shane Olivea- Ohio State
Note: Olivea was also considered a much higher prospect, could be a steal and will likely move inside to OG.
7th Round Pick: OT Carlos Joseph- Miami
Note: Joseph in most mocks was considered a 3rd or 4th round pick. Joseph will do more then just make the team!
