Team Draft Reviews !!!

2.) Oakland Raiders (4-12)
Pick: OT Robert Gallery- Iowa, 6-7 323, 40 yrd Time: 4.9 (Official)

1st Round Pick:   OT Robert Gallery- Iowa

Note: Gallery will make a huge impact right away, the Raiders OL which already has pretty good depth: Mo Collins, Ron Stone, Chad Slaughter, Brad Badger, Barry Sims, Langston Walker, Frank Middleton, Barrett Robbins, Adem Treu and even Lincoln Kennedy who has yet to official retire. Gallery will likely take over LT and the Raiders will move Barry Sims inside and replace Middleton at LG. The Raiders will have an excellent OL for years to come!!!

2nd Round Pick:  OC Jake Grove- Virginia Tech

Note: The Raiders have a rich history of great Centers: Don Mosebar, Jim Otto just to name a few. Grove has that throwback Raider attitude, he is a very nasty player and will be a perfect fit. The Raiders will eventually work him in the rotation, he can also play OG.

3rd Round Pick:  S Stuart Schweigert- Purdue

Note: Schweigert is a playmaker!!! He always find ways to make plays either against the run and especially in pass coverage. Schweigert will get a chance to learn from one of the greatest in Rod Woodson for about a year or so and eventually take over that position in 2005. Schweigert has better speed then most give him credit for, he was timed at 4.49 40 yrd. at the combine.

4th Round Pick:  WR Carlos Francis- Texas Tech

Note: This pick is only fitting! The Fastest player in the draft! Everyone knows how much Al Davis loves speed. Francis is more then just a WR with speed, he goes after every ball thrown his way and is not afraid to dive for a ball. Similar to some of those WR's in New England, a Deon Branch, Bethal Johnson, David Patten type WR. Francis will fit in very well with the Raiders because of his ability to make plays after the catch.

5th Round Pick: WR Johnnie Morant- Syracuse

Note: Steal! Steal! Steal! Morant was project as high as a late 3rd round pick coming into the draft. He has the frame of Jerry Porter/Terrell Owens: 6-4 229 with 4.4 speed. If he can stay healthy, the Raiders future at WR which would features: Doug Gabriel, Jerry Porter, Johnnie Morant, Carlos Francis, Chris Coles all learning from the 2 greatest in Tim Brown and Jerry Rice, the future at WR for the Raiders is looking very bright!

6th Round Pick:  DE Shawn Johnson- Delaware

Note: Similar to last years pick Tyler Brayton, Johnson is a hard worker that gives 110% every down. A pick that could develop into something more then just a 6th round pick.

6th Round Pick:  LB Cody Spencer- North Texas

7th Round Pick: TE Courtney Anderson- S.J. St.

7th Round Pick:  LB Andre Sommersell- Colo. St
