NFL: Redskins to Trade for No. 2 Pick From Rams

The St. Louis Rams agreed in principle Saturday to trading the No. 2 pick of the draft to the Washington Redskins for three first-round selections.
The Redskins are paying a hefty price to move into position to take Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III. They're giving the Rams their first- and second-round selections this year, plus first-round picks in 2013 and 2014.
Chief operating officer Kevin Demoff confirmed to The Associated Press details of the trade, which cannot be completed until Tuesday. FOXsports.com and ESPN.com first reported details of the agreement Friday night. (MORE>>>)

2012 NFL Scouting Combine: LSU's Morris Claiborne runs strong 40 time

LSU's Morris Claiborne was among the early defensive backs to post 40-yard times Tuesday morning, the final day of the Scouting Combine.
Claiborne is not only the best cornerback in the draft, but one of the top five players overall. His 40 times did nothing to change that evaluation. Claiborne, 5-11 and 188 pounds, ran a 4.52 and 4.47 (unofficial times). While those numbers didn't "wow" anyone, his draft stock remains high. The Combine tends to impact the cornerback position more than others, but we don't believe teams will adjust their evaluation of Claiborne based on his 40 times
NFL: St. Louis Rams admit willingness to trade No. 2 pick

The St. Louis Rams are willing to trade the second overall pick of the April draft.
Chief operating officer Kevin Demoff said Tuesday that the team would make a deal under the right circumstances, but has not made any commitments despite a report late Monday that a trade had already been decided. He said new coach Jeff Fisher and general manager Les Snead went to the NFL combine with an open mind.
"I think coach Fisher and Les have been upfront that we will listen to offers for the 2 pick," Demoff said in an email to The Associated Press. "I didn't see anything in the report that differed from their statements."
Quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III are expected to go 1-2 in the draft, with Indianapolis holding the top pick. The Rams need plenty of help but are set at quarterback with Sam Bradford, the first overall pick in 2010.
