LSU's Morris Claiborne was among the early defensive backs to post 40-yard times Tuesday morning, the final day of the Scouting Combine.
Claiborne is not only the best cornerback in the draft, but one of the top five players overall. His 40 times did nothing to change that evaluation. Claiborne, 5-11 and 188 pounds, ran a 4.52 and 4.47 (unofficial times). While those numbers didn't "wow" anyone, his draft stock remains high. The Combine tends to impact the cornerback position more than others, but we don't believe teams will adjust their evaluation of Claiborne based on his 40 times
LSU defensive back Morris Claiborne appears to have played his final college game.
Claiborne, junior, will announce plans to enter the NFL draft, according to The Associated Press, which cited multiple people with knowledge of the situation.
Ranked No. 4 draft prospect by ESPN's Mel Kiper, Claiborne is expected to be one of the top picks this April after a season where had six interceptions and recorded 51 tackles. (MORE>>>)
